The main areas of activity of Juodupė Nursery-Kindergarten are early childhood, preschool and pre-primary education, and the education of children with special needs who have severe and moderate speech and language disorders.
Preschool education is provided to children aged 1.5 to 6. The purpose of preschool education is to help the child meet their innate, cultural – including ethnic – social and cognitive needs. The educational process is focused on the child and their needs. Children are involved in creative, sporting, cultural and cognitive activities. A dynamic, informative and safe educational environment helps to ensure the child's all-round development.
♦ Preschool education is divided into early age, from 1.5 to 3 years, and preschool age, from 3 to 6 years.
♦ Preschool education is carried out according to the Juodupė Nursery-Kindergarten preschool education programme „Versmelė”.
♦ Preschool education of children is delivered by a preschool teacher.
♦ The main method of educating children is play.
♦ The educational content is delivered throughout the child's time in the group: while communicating, playing, taking part in educational activities organised by teachers, eating, getting ready to rest and going outdoors.
Pre-primary education is provided to a child who turns 6 in that calendar year. At the parents' request, and where a psychologist has assessed the Child's maturity and established that a child who does not turn 6 in that calendar year is mature enough to learn under the pre-primary education programme, decisions on the child's further learning under the pre-primary education programme are made by the parents (guardians). Where a psychologist has assessed the child's maturity and established that the child is not mature enough to learn under the pre-primary education programme, education under that programme is not provided.
♦ Pre-primary education lasts one year.
♦ The school year begins on 1 September and ends on 30 May.
♦ The programme is delivered by a pre-primary teacher.
♦ The pre-primary education model is approved by Rokiškis Town Municipal Council.
♦ Progress and achievements are assessed by the pre-primary teacher. The achievements of a child with special educational needs are assessed by the pre-primary teacher and the speech therapist.
Education of children with special needs. Children with speech and developmental disorders are educated in an integrated manner at the nursery-kindergarten. Qualified support is provided to them by a speech therapist. Corrective work is continued in the group during educational and independent activities.
