Admission of children to the institution

From 16 March 2026, applications for the admission of children to the nursery-kindergarten are submitted through the Centralised Information System for Admission to Education Programmes (CPIS).

No new application is needed for children who already attend the kindergarten.

What this means for parents:

Applications are completed online

Paper applications will no longer be needed

You will be able to track the status of your application in the system

You will be informed of the results through the system

The agreement will be concluded and signed in the CPIS self-service portal

  • Parents submit an application for the child's admission to the educational institution.
  • Pre-primary education begins in the calendar year in which the child turns 6. At the parents' request it may also be provided to a younger child, but not before the child turns 5, provided the child is sufficiently mature for education.
  • Parents provide the child's health check certificate and a copy of the child's birth certificate.
  • A child education agreement is concluded with the parents (guardians).
  • Parents provide the necessary information about the family, documents regarding shift work and fee concessions, and a written request regarding the child's meals and regarding meeting and seeing off a child who travels by transport.

Please note that the following documents are required when a child starts kindergarten

  • Certificate of the child's health (issued by a paediatrician);
  • Copy of the child's birth certificate;
  • For those entitled to exemption from the fee for maintenance at a preschool institution: documents on family composition and income.
