Juodupė Nursery-Kindergarten since 1954

Juodupė Nursery-Kindergarten was founded in September 1954, and came under the Education Department. It was one of the oldest kindergartens in the district. From its founding the kindergarten was headed by Adelė Dudėnienė. She worked as head for 25 years. The first teachers were Janina Stasiulionytė and Genė Motuzienė. The old kindergarten had one mixed-age group of children. It was attended by 20 – 25 children, mostly the children of workers at the “Nemunas” woollen fabric factory.

  • 1963In 1963 a new nursery-kindergarten building was built, and Juodupė Nursery-Kindergarten belonged to the “Nemunas” woollen fabric factory operating at the time. Education took place in 7 groups. There was a weekly (boarding) group.
  • 1979From 1979, the head for about three years was Liucija Bliūdžiuvienė.
  • 1982–1983In 1982 – 1983 the kindergarten was headed by Virginija Valiukienė.
  • 1984–2017In 1984 – 2017 the kindergarten was headed by Janina Gavėnienė.
  • 1991From 1991 the nursery-kindergarten came under the Juodupė Eldership.
  • 2005In 2005, as part of the reorganisation of Juodupė Gymnasium and Juodupė Nursery-Kindergarten, Juodupė Primary School was established with a Juodupė Nursery-Kindergarten division.
  • 2008In 2008 the internal structure of Juodupė Primary School was reorganised, and Juodupė Nursery – Kindergarten has operated as a separate institution. The kindergarten currently has 4 groups, educating children from 1 to 7 years of age.
  • 2018Since 1 August 2018 the kindergarten has been headed by Valdis Vaičėnas.
